Charged Twice A Month

Charged Twice A Month

I've read on here multiple times that Spofify charges credit card accounts twice a month. This is absolute bull**bleep**, in my opinion. I have contacted my credit card company and they say the fault falls on Spotify, which is does. I have been charged twice each month for an entire year - so much that I had to cancel my student premium account because of this ongoing bull**bleep**. So how do I fix this issue? Honestly, for charging me twice every month, I should receive some sort of free month or several, as a matter of fact, for already paying for spotify twice each month. SO fix this.

Hi @kaseyjenharrell, welcome to the Spotify Community.

If you have several charges from Spotify within the same month, let’s figure out what happened.

If the charges occurred around the same time

This can happen if you clicked START MY SPOTIFY PREMIUM twice by mistake during the signup process.

WHAT TO DO

You don’t need to do anything. The second payment is automatically applied to your next month, and you won’t be charged again until the month after. You can check this on your subscription page.

If the charges occurred on different dates

This means you likely have more than one Spotify account.

WHAT TO DO

Let me know if this helps.

The charges did occur on different dates but I only have one account that
is premium, which charged my $4.99. My account that I had last year, which
I cancelled and I know I cancelled, was premium but no longer exists.
However, my mother, who pays for this, figured after months of this
happening and us continually filing complaints with no reply that Spotify
was just scamming us. You can understand why we would be incredibly angry
over this. I only have one spotify account, which just ended on the 21 of
February because my mother and I finally gave up. I do not think this is
fair whatsoever and that Spotify should pay for free months of Spotify,
although they technically aren't free since I've been double charged all
along.

Ok @kaseyjenharrell, did you get an email confirming the cancelation of your Premium plan for the old account? Do you still have the credentials to log in to it?

If so, just to make sure, please click here and let me know if it's showing as Free.
