My subscription says I have the free one but have been getting charged for the premium for over a year. I have been trying to figure out how to get a hold of someone to get this cancelled for months and can't get a hold of a real person!!!! I have emailed and just get a general reply email saying to do Twitter or something then it says get on this community site. Why is this so difficult?!?! Can someone from Spotify just fix this HUGE problem for me?!?! This has got to be the worst set up company I have ever dealt with!!! I just want to cancel the subscription I never signed up for and get refunded all the money you people have been taking from me!!!! I just want to talk to a real person. They have set this company up to have no accountability.

This sounds totally not cool! Every user receives a confirmation email from Spotify when they cancel their Premium subscription; have you gotten that email yet? No stress if you haven't.

No, there was never anything to cancel. It kept telling me I was not subscribed to the premium account.

 

Ok, thanks for helping me narrow it down. Could you log into your subscription page. Your status should be Premium. 

  • If you're on Premium, try canceling from there.
  • If it says Free, check the receipt Spotify emailed you when you subscribed.
    • Make sure you're signing in with the username on that receipt. If the username on your receipt is a 10 digit number, please sign in with your Facebook login details.

If it still shows you're on a Free account, please reply back! 🙂

Both my Facebook login and username log-ins are free accounts yet I've been charged for premium for the past 6 months.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community about this. 

 

As @oscitare suggested, it's always a good idea to check your account page - just head to Your plan to see if you've got an active Premium subscription. On this page you can also cancel the Premium subscription.   

 

It's also possible you've created more than one Spotify-account, so you might have a Free and a Premium account. To check if this is the case we suggest you read through this help page.
