I´m from Mexico City, yesterday I received from my bank twice messages about to charges for $99 in my account from spotify premium. Today I checked my netbanking and the charges still in status "Pending authorization"; I´m not sure that the bank wil take only $99 or $198, It's the first time that spotify charge me twice, what can i do?
Hola @herodriguezc, welcome to the Spotify Community!
Was the second charge in the same date as the first one?
This can happen if you clicked START MY SPOTIFY PREMIUM twice by mistake during the signup process.
You don’t need to do anything. The second payment is automatically applied to your next month, and you won’t be charged again until the month after. You can check this on your subscription page.
It's also possible that any extra charges are only 'pending' and won't complete, meaning no money will actually leave your account. For more information, see Unexpected Spotify charges on my bank statement.
This means you likely have more than one Spotify account.
Let me know if this helps!
I vex been charged 3 times just got and decided the same day it wasn't for me I would appreciate my refund back..
Please return my money was charged 3 timed within signing up in about 30 min period decided I didn't want it please return my money...
If you think you are eligible for a refund, you should get in contact with Spotify customer services. You can message them at SpotifyCares on Facebook or Twittter or through this online contact form.
Please let me know if you need any further help 🙂
Hey @herodriguezc,
That doesn't sound right. Have you or anybody of your family tried to upgrade to Premium for Family recently?
And again, were the charges on the same day?
Thanks,
No, my account is not familiar and they don´t know what is my user account. Today I check again my bank account and for now it's only pending authorization $99, the other $99 was charged officialy. I hope the pending $99 don´t pass and return to my bank account, lf tomorrow the charge pass to spotify and not for my account, definitely I have to ask a refund, I don´t want to wait to the next period of payment.
Regards and thanks for your soon answer.
Ok no problem. Let me know when you find this out.
In the meantime you can check your account status here.
Hi! I checked my account again and the 2nd charged still "Pending", buy I need the money, I don't want to wait until de the next period, because maybe again takes twice, the pending and the new charged of february.
I go to the spotify page and my account indicates that the next charge for $99 will be in 16/02, that's my reason that I'm affraid the next month happen again this sad situation.
Regards!
Don't worry @herodriguezc,
A pending charge is a part of your bank or credit card company's authorization process. When you submit a payment, they place a temporary authorization on the funds. If the transaction doesn’t successfully complete, no money will actually be taken.
In that instance, the authorization will expire and the funds will reappear on your statement. The time this takes can vary, depending on your bank/credit card company.
For more information, we’d recommend contacting your bank/credit card company directly.
See our credit/debit card troubleshooting guide for further assistance.
Hi! The last period (january) I haved a problem with the month charged of spotify premium, again, in this month I have exactly the same problem; Spotify charged twice again in my principal account, I received the notification yesterday and now I'm checking and I can't believe that for second time makes me the same thing.
Now, I have to wait again until the bank release my money (if this happen) to my account.
What can I do for the next month If this happen every month? I don't know how to react for this situation, because I really enjoy and love spotify, but this kind of things makes me think a lot in searching another options that let me listen streaming music.
