Christmas discount doesn't work

So I paid 9.99 euros in December because I saw the 3 months for 9.99 euros promotion. However, it is now January and I am told to go premium. Ads are coming back even though I paid for the 3 months promotion in december. Was the promotion a scam?

Unfortunately not, the offers have ended on January 1st.

I paid through IDeal. I am from the Netherlands. When I did that I had a month of subscription but after those days, my premium account stopped. Maybe it's because I already tried the premium account once during my free trial the first time i tried spotify a few months ago? If so, Spotify should have told us that that promotion is only for people who have never tried premium before.
