Code not redeemable in my country

Hi! A friend of mine just bought me a Spotify subscription through the Spotify.com site, but I can't seem to redeem it. I received an e-mail with a code in it, but when I try to use it the Spotify site states that the code isn't redeemable in my country. Is there any way to fix this?

(I made my account through Facebook, so I'm unable to change my country)

Spotify gift cards can only be redeemed on Spotify accounts registered in the same country where they were purchased. They’re also not redeemable for Premium for Family, or in conjunction with other discounts and promotions, such as the student discount or trial offers.

It seems like you and your friend are from different countries, right?

I'm afraid not, @Dyazz --- unless you use a VPN. Search for it in Google, but I don't know much about that.
