Community Account Affected

Dear to whom this may concern,

 

  • For some reason, when I log on, it takes me to this account instead (I only have one account).
  • I don't use Facebook at all.
  • My username is messed up, badges are gone, and everything! The only thing that is the same is my email (when I check 'account details'). Please help! My community account's name is "Preticle".
  • I also tried changing this account's name to "Preticle" but it first said that I can't change it to the same username. A few seconds after, it said to choose a different username.
  • This really sucks and I think that there have been many other accounts that have been hijacked as well or a potential bug in the Spotify system.
  • Please know that my music/playlist are fine. I'm referring to the community account not the Spotify account that I use to listen to music.

Hi there!

It sounds like you might’ve accidentally created a second account and signed into that one instead. I'd recommend checking out this Support article for more info.

If you’re definitely logged into the right account, I'd recommend checking out this Support article for the next steps to take.

I have already resolved the issue but yes, I do have two accounts. So here's what happened:

 

1. I create a Spotify account

2. I create a Community account

3. I didn't like the name I made for my Spotify account so I made a new one and transferred all of my music/artists over to...

4. The 2nd Spotify account I made

5. I signed in Spotify community with my new account and everything was different.

6. I said to my self "what?"

7. I waited a few days to figure what was wrong

8. I tried signing in Spotify communtiy with the email linked to my first Spotify account and it was a success!

9. I receive email that someone has suggested a scenario that might've happened.

10. I thank Jose_M for taking my problem in consideration.
