Concern about cancelling Premium and offline playlists

Solved!

Concern about cancelling Premium and offline playlists

Hello, I have a couple questions that I can't seem to find straight answers for on the board. I have been a Spotify user for the last four years, and up until December never had premium. My subscription will be expiring soon and I was wondering what happens to all the playlists I synced to play offline. I know I will no longer be able to listen to them offline without premium, but are they saved? In other words, when I get premium again in the future will they already be synced, or will I need to resync them?

Also, from all of the threads I've read I've seen some confusing posts. People talking about losing their music when they cancel premium. I'm assuming they are just referring to the offline mode. Once I cancel premium I should not lose my playlists, just the ability to listen to them offline, correct? Because I've been listening to Spotify for the last four years without premium and made a ton of playlists. I just want someone to confirm that everything will stay exactly the same, minus the ability to listen offline. Thank you in advance.

Hello @user-removed, welcome to the Spotify Community!

You're right, when your subscription expires you'll keep all your playlists, and all your music, the only characteristics you'll lose are:

  • High Quality streaming
  • Offline playlists (music will be deleted from your device, if you subscribe to Premium again you'll need to download them again).
  • No ads

Thank you for confirming this for me. c:
