Connect to Facebook button pop up not accessible

I am trying to connect my facebook to my spotify account. When I click the connect to facebook button on the app, it clearly animates as if pressed, but no pop up appears for log in details. When I try to change tabs, I can visibly see the pop up in a window, but cannot access it by any means.

If that doesn’t work just head to Spotify Facebook page and tap Use App just below the cover photo, right side.

That guide doesn't address this issue, and when I click the use app icon, it just opens spotify in a new tab without actually linking the accounts. 

I would really appreciate some indication on how to solve this
