Deleting Account and Recreating

Earlier today I deleted my Spotify account to change the username. I went to create a new account with the old email and it said that the email was taken, even though I just deleted the account. I had to use a different account to do this, but I was wondering if you had any answers. Thanks

Welcome to the Community! It may take around 7 - 10 days for your account to be permanently deleted. If you try to log back in it should be reactivated, so I'd recommend waiting this time. Please keep in mind that your username can't be used with Spotify again.
