Deleting my songs at 3 AM

Deleting my songs at 3 AM

I was up late doing some digital art practice to pass the time, and I noticed that the "dowloading songs" icon popped up several times in a row, so I checked the thing at the top of the playlist that shows how many songs are in it, and started counting as I worked. So far, in 45 minutes, 211 songs have been deleted from my playlist. I used the tool on my account page to log out everywhere, and reset my password just to be sure that nobdy else was doing it. However, another 4 have been deleted as I logged back in and started writing this. I understand that there are always changes in licensing/copywrited pieces, but I highly doubt you lost 215 of them in less than an hour. I have a fairly big playlist that just hit 3,000 songs a couple days ago, so finding the ones tha tgot removed is going to be a huge pain. Can someone explain what the heck just happened?

Hey @Fluffersnuff, welcome to the Community.

Hope you're doing great!

Is your issue similar to this one?

If not, try the steps from the attached image 🙂

Hope it helps!

I appreciate the insight, but unfortunatly, neither of those issues seem to be the problem. No songs were greyed out, and I didn't delete the playlist they were removed from.

Hey @Fluffersnuff.

Thanks for your patience.

Have you by any chance saved 3,333 songs for Offline use? There is a limit of 3,333 songs per device. Older songs will get removed to make room for new songs. They shouldn't be deleted from the playlist they are stored in however, but perhaps you are looking in the section where all Offline songs are collected.

Let us know what you can find. Have a nice day.

Unfortunately not. The other large playlist I have isn't set to be used offline. This playlist is now currently at 2,829 songs. So, close to the cap, but not quite there. Searching for those songs that were deleted only comes up blank too.

Hey @Fluffersnuff.

Thanks for getting back.

We understand that you don't see any greyed out songs. By default these songs should not be displayed but in the settings of the app you can enable the Show unavailable songs in playlists function. Could you check if you have this function switched on. Perhaps it's switched off for you and then songs will simply seem to 'disappear' instead of showing greyed out.

The amount of songs you mention you lost does seem a bit high. But could you please check for us if the songs are greyed out after all?

Let us know what you can find and have a nice day!
