Device Password - There was a problem setting your password...

Hi All,

I am currently trying to reset my "device" password. I have not managed to do so until now.

Below are the steps I have tried:

I log into my account on the web, click on "set a password for your devices".

After the page loads, I click on the button to send myself an email

I receive the email in my inbox and click on it.

When I click on that link, I am prompted with Password and retypte password boxes.

After retyping my password, spotify replies the following message:

"There was a problem setting your password"

Without providing additinoal cues on the reason.

I have tried with simple and complex passwords, only letters, cases...

I have not managed to reset this device password so far.

I would appreciate your help to solve this issue.

Is there a way I could contact Spotify support directly?

Thank-you.

Regards,

PA

Hi All,

I was provided a solution by Spotify support to connect my Marantz MCR610!

I connect to Spotify using my Facebook Login (my email) and Facebook Password.

Previously, when connecting my Marantz MCR610, I had to use an account number generated by Spotify (looks something like 1114576887). Apparently, this has changed and I now need to use my Facebook Login and Password (exactly the sames I use to connect to Facebook).

It seems that the last update provided by Marantz or Spotify (or both???) allows for this.

Hope this helps!

Cheers,

PA

While this is a workaround to the problem it actually works!

1. Generate app password in your facebook security settings, call the app Spotify

2. Use facebook email and generated app password to log in to spotify app

Credit to ploax, I clarified instructions.

I have the same problem - any solutions at all?

While the trick with the facebook generated password worked for some devices, neither the solutions (FB login email and FB password) work when trying to connect the Logitech Squeezebox to Spotify.

Anybody found a solution for this?

This doesn't work for users wanting to deactivate a Facebook account. As soon as you log back into Spotify your Facebook account gets reactivated.

Also having this problem. Facebook workaround doesn't seem to work for squeezebox.
Any help, Spotify?

Same problem, Spotify doesn't want you to unlink your account from Facebook, would make the whol data-mining thing harder. Fascists.

How did you do it ?

Also having the same problem. Need solution
