Devices list shows device that automatically takes over and changes music playing.

Devices list shows device that automatically takes over and changes music playing.

I'm listening on my Mac Pro app via work wifi, and an unknown device is listed in my "Devices" list. While this may be expected on such a widely tapped wifi profile, this device is NOT listed under my Account > Offline Devices.

More importantly, I'm not sure why the desktop app automatically switches to this unknown device (on its own), and hijacks what I'm listening to. Suddenly, the music will stop because it's now playing on the unknown device. When I reset LISTENING ON to my computer, it somehow changes what I was listening to, as well – to Latin music (nowhere in my listening history).

Details:

• Mac Pro

• OS X El Capitan v10.11.16

• Spotify app for Mac

• Secure and non-secure wifi profiles (non-secure was better, and unknown device eventually disappeared)

• Re-installation of the app did not fix the issue

Hey @moxylady

Have you tried changing your password? Check that your email address is correct in your profile page and change the password to a more secure one.

Then, there is option to sign out from all devices in your account's main control panel (at the very bottom).

That should logout of everything, including unrecognized devices.

Let me know how it goes. 🙂
