Did my account get reset?

I installed the mobile app on a iPhone and logged in without using my facebook account.  It now appears that my account was reset because when logging in on the desktop app it acted like I have never logged in before and all of my playlists are gone.  It also offered me another 48 hr. of free premium on the mobile device.  I would like my old account settngs back if possible because I have put in a lot of time on my playlists.

Hi, and welcome to the community!

 

Are you 100% sure you're logging into the right account? It's very easy to have both a Spotify (user+pass) login and a facebook (fb email+pass) login!

 

If you are sure and there is no change, I suggest you submit an online contact form; and someone at Spotify should be able to merge the accounts/attempt to get it back to before the 'reset'.

If you get an automated reply; make sure to reply to it directly (even if it's from a no reply); and it will be sent to the Spotify staff.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂

If you get in touch with the customer services team directly using the online contact form they should be able to investigate to see what has happened here and look into getting that restored for you. 

If you get an automated email reply back directing you to the community or help pages, you need to reply directly to that email (even if its from no-reply) and one of the customer services agents will get back to you as soon as possible.

I see what happened now.  When I installed the mobile app on my son's iPhone I accidently linked my Spotify account to his facebook account.  I think I have removed that link but I think when I logged into Spotify this morning using my facebook account it created a new account.  So now I can't attach my original Spotify login to my facebook account.

 

The whole dual login stuff is messed up.  Once a Spotify account and a facebook account are "married" they should stay that way.  The fact that I was able to associate my son's facebook account with my Spotify account even though I already had MY facebook account associated with it is really messed up.

By the way, I was only able to easily figure this out by logging into the Spotify web player.  The only real problem I have now is that I seem to have an account that was CREATED by my facebook account so I can't remove it from that account to reassociate it with my original spotify account.

That does sound like an issue, if you get in touch using the link above the Spotify team will be able to remove that extra account for you.
