Didn't receive 2 free months when upgraded to premium

I was just wondering if anybody else upgraded to premium but didn't get two free months? Maybe It's because I bought it through a gift card?

I've had the same issue after upgrading this morning through my iphone6, Subscription end date 28/01/2015....

Possible solution, 

If you have EVER had premium or accepted a FREE trial then, you are actually exempt from this promo despite thier emails to the contrary, Hope this helps.

I sent them an email and they said that they'd be happy to give me two months green anyway if I sent my date of birth, postcode and favourite movie? I found it a little strange
