Difference between two usernames?

In the lpayer in the upper left corner I have one user name (something human-readable that I have specified at some stage), and on the Account screen I have a random sequence of letters.

Why are there two of them, and can the first one be changed to something different?

Hey @m4_o7y-0ybxth, welcome to the Spotify Community!

If you go to your account overview page and you see an username with both letters and numbers, this username is auto-generated by our system when you first sign up. However, you don't have to worry. Your account will show up for you and other users with the name you chose within the Spotify app.

At the moment, it's not possible to change the username you registered when you created your account. However, we know this function could be helpful for some users, so we'll let the right folks know this is something you'd like to see in the future.

For now, the only way to change your username is if you create a new account. That way, you'll be able to register the name you want from the beginning.
