Direct Debit gone?

hey

I used Spotify since last October, always paid with direct debit and had always no problems. last weeks I had a problem with paypal, it is solved now, but spotify cancelled my premium due the fact that they can't get the money. Ok till now, but when i try to re-subscribe I get the message on the paypal site that direct debiting (lastschrift) is not possible:

But before i get the option to log in into my paypal account, I see an option to register a new paypal account to pay WITH direct debit. And on other services like Steam, I have no problems with direct debit.

Spotify will only accept payment from a paypal account funded from a debit/credit card. but thats silly, why I paid 7 months with direct debit without problems and now spotify see anywhere problems? that's make no sense ..

and in germany is the credit card stuff not so popular like in USA or else
