Does upgrading to Premium change the normal date of the bill?

I upgraded from Unlimited to Premium via my student email.
I got an email right afterwards (19.02.2015) with a bill for te 4,99€ to pay till 02.03.2015) even while already having paid for that month.

 

Because I use that email account only for Spotify I only check it for the normal bill dates around the 16. of the month - that was the date where I had to pay the bill for the last ~18 months or so. So I didn't saw that email from the 19.02.2015 till yesterday.


Now I got an exhortation to pay the 4,99€ + 4,99€ as extra charge for not having paid till that date (02.03.2015) in my normal post inbox.

 

So I wonder - did the upgrade change the time to pay the bill? And if yes, why didn't I get informed on the Spotify page after I upgraded?

Nobody expects the payday to change if you just upgrade your product with the same account.

Hi, and welcome to the community!

 

You will be charged at 30 day intervals from the point you upgrade.

Check your subscriptions page to see when you should be charged.

 

If you are being charged at a time you shouldn't be, I suggest you submit an online contact form; and someone at Spotify can look into it for you.
If you get an automated reply; make sure to reply to it directly (even if it's from a no reply); and it will be sent to the Spotify staff.

You will be charged at 30 day intervals from the point you upgrade.

Check your subscriptions page to see when you should be charged.

 

If you are being charged at a time you shouldn't be, I suggest you submit an online contact form; and someone at Spotify can look into it for you.
If you get an automated reply; make sure to reply to it directly (even if it's from a no reply); and it will be sent to the Spotify staff.

I take that as a yes. Thanks for the answer, communication from Spotify when upgrading is totally lacking about that but so is their software so whatever ....
