Double premium subscription gift card + app store

Last Christmas my son gave me a 3 months Spotify subscription using a gift card, which I redeemed on Dec 25. That gave me Spotify premium until 25/03/2016.

2 days later I must have inadvertently activated an automatic subscription through the iOS app, which makes that I was also billed through the App Store for the same period. I did not notice the problem until now, after the second mail from the App Store billing me for the month of February. I have now, with the help of my son, cancelled the automatic subscription through the App Store (which by the way is 12.99 instead of 9.99 per month!). 

But I have thus already been billed twice (January and February) through the App Store, for a period for which I already had a premium account directly through Spotify using the gift card. I checked on my account on Spotify.com, and my subscription has not been extended with two months.

So I effectively payed twice for January and February.

It surprises me that this was even possible!

I would at least have expected that my subscription would have been extended by two months.

@Spotify: can these two months be reimbursed, or can my subscription at least be extended by two months?

Besides from this payment issue I am very happy with the Spotify service, so I hope this issue can be solved swiftly!
