Facebook password

The spotify app is asking me to enter my facebook password directly into it.  Is that a direct violation of the FB Terms of Service?  They specifically say not to enter your FB password anywhere but FB.

Section 3 Number 1 (Spotify), and Section 4 Number 8 (users).

According to what I see

3.1 You will not post unauthorized commercial communications (such as spam) on Facebook.

4.8 You will not share your password (or in the case of developers, your secret key), let anyone else access your account, or do anything else that might jeopardize the security of your account.

When you are logging into Spotify, the authentication happens with Facebook rather than Spotify so you are not sharing your password with Spotify to my knowledge. Not sure how the system works in the background, its all a bit top secret!

It's section 3.2, I must've mistyped that.

It's against Facebook policy to have us typing our Facebook log-in information into the application. You're supposed to use a "Connect through Facebook" link, that way we can be much more sure than Spotify doesn't have a way to access our Facebook credentials, which they have no right to.

You will not collect users' content or information, or otherwise access Facebook, using automated means (such as harvesting bots, robots, spiders, or scrapers) without our prior permission.

Is that the bit you are referring to?

Hmmm I am not sure, Spotify might have permission to do so since they do have some pretty deep Facebook integration going on!
