Facebook won't connect to my Spotify! Tried everything...

So when I first made my spotify account I did not have a Facebook account. I signed up with just my email. I then later made a Facebook account (with the same email) and I have been trying and retrying for months now to connect the two. I have tried it on mobile and on desktop. Sometimes it has me log into Facebook and even asks for permission to see my friends list, but as soon as I'm done logging in, it's as if nothing happened. There is still the "connect to Facebook" button, and it still says my Facebook is not connected to a Spotify account. It just won't connect! Is there anything I can do?
