Family Account - How to use your invitation and actually sign in

Hi,  Spotify community.  I just bought a premium subscription with my daughters urging.  We used her trial account username and my credit card.   Probably not a smart idea... I cannot figure out how to access my own invitation the email provides an access code - is that the initial password or do I have to establish my own account?  I've tried both ways and I keep getting messages that the email is already registered.  Infuriating.... 

Please help.

The way Spotify Family works is that each person creates their own Spotify account first if they do not already have one. For everyone to create a Spotify account they will need their own email address.

Once everyone has their own Spotify account you then invite them to join your family plan and then they sign in with that account in the app.
