Family Account on Multiple Devices

Solved!

Family Account on Multiple Devices

Plan - Family Premium

Country - USA

Device - Multiple, iPhones, Amazon Echo, Laptops, Mac

Operating System - latest on all devices

Hello,

We recently signed up for the family premium account. I am having a problem trying to play on multiple devices with the same account. For instance, I cannot be on my computer with my account, while my wife listens in the bedroom via our Amazon Echo (also tied to my account). We have multiple echo devices throughout the house and it would be best if those devices can play no matter where else that account is being played since we are paying for the premium service.

Hi @MeyerCa

Spotify Family subscription allows multiple accounts to have premium while only the master account pays for it. Different accounts in the family subscription can be used simultaneously but one account could not stream at two different devices at the same time. There is no subscription plan which allows you to do that.

In your case, my suggestion is to create a separate account for your echo devices and add it to your family subscription (you can add up to 5 accounts without paying additional money). This will allow you to use your account and listen to echo simultaneously.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

We have a similiar problem. We can only play on one device at a time with Family Premium. What we have tried so far, with out success:

- Everyone has seperate accounts (4 of us).

- We have all logged into our own accounts, changed our passwords (just incase) and clicked on the 'Sign Out Everywhere'.

- Logged back into 3 devices (iPhones) only with our own seperate accounts.

If more than one of us tries to play music, it stops playback on the other device. It has been ongoing for a few months.

Despite the flaw, Spotify keep taking my $18/month from my account. Very frustrated, suggestions please.

Hey @Jon3333.

Thanks for reaching out on the Community. Let's see what we can do 🙂

Do you happen to all be using a shared device, such as a speaker via bluetooth/Connect, when listening to music? That can sometimes cause interference.

If so, can you try disconnecting from it and listening directly on the device?

Let us know. If you're still having trouble, we'll be right here to help with further troubleshooting steps 🙂

Take care,

P
