Family account: I can not redeem code, due to spotify saying i live in another country

Family account: I can not redeem code, due to spotify saying i live in another country

Hi.

 

My daughter has tried to register with the family account invitation i sent her and it was denied. State that she was not resgistered in the same country as me.

Spotify clearly has her as living in the USA when she does not. I will state that she logged in with her facebook account and as such we followed the instruction on changing details.

When we got to facebook, the address was here in australia, so we reentered it. This made no difference, with the spotify account still saying she lives in the USA.

 

Can you please retify. I would like her on my family account and i want her details changed to actually represent where she lives. Can this be done.

My suggestion would be for your daughter to create a new account with a different email address from the one she uses for Facebook. That will give her a Spotify username of her choice, so she won't have to rely on Facebook anymore.

 

Once she have this new account, contact customer support and they'll help her migrate her library, playlists, friends, etc. to this new account.

 

If she wants, she can link this new account to her Facebook again, but now she won't have to rely in the Facebook login process, since she'll have her very own Spotify username.

 

Next, send the invite to the email she used to create the new account. Let her accept the invite and you'll be set.
Both will be able to listen to music at the same time, and will have separate libraries, playlists and friends.
