Family members does not have Connect

Solved!

Family members does not have Connect

So I have Spotify for Family subscription, and created both my kids with separate accounts, and logged them into the Spotify app on each of their android tablets.

In the beginning them could both see our Spotify Connect enabled speakers.

But now none of them can see any Connect speakers, only I can on my Nexus 5.

I tried logging one of my kids out of the Spotify app, log myself out on my phone, and then logged in on my phone as my kid, and now also could not see any Connect speakers.

So that leads me to that it's not the devices, but the account that is not "Connect-enabled". It seems the account IS Premium, because there are no adds.

So how do I enable "Connect" on these Family members?

I found the problem; "My bad".

So I did some testing, and I thought about the 5GHz network that these HEOS speakers are connected to. Also because the speakers weren't even visable in the HEOS App.

In my Netgear router the 5GHz was set (by me) to "Up to 1.3 Gbps". It didn't say anything about what that means or can have up impact,.

I tried settings this to "Up to 600 Mbps" instead, and now the speakers became visable in the HEOS App, and now also in all my devices on all family member accounts 🙂

So that's great, even though I cannot explain why.

Hey @simonselmer

Thanks for getting in touch.

Just to check - to what device are you trying to Connect to? Also, let us know your device and Spotify version.

We'll see what we can suggest.

Hi

I'm trying to connect to HEOS by Denon speakers.

On one of the tablets where I have the problem is running Spotify version "5.9.0.774 armV7" running on a Lenovo TAB 2 A7-20F which is running Android 4.4.2. No upgrade at this time.

On my Nexus 5 running same Spotify version, if I log in with my own master account, I can see my speakers. When logging in with my kids account on my phone, I have no speakers.

Thanks in advance
