Family subscription on multiple devices

Solved!

Family subscription on multiple devices

I have just joined up with a family subscription. Working well so far but am wondering how a single aacount (out of the six) works on multiple devices. I am the admin account owner and have set it up on my iPhone. Just logged in to Spotify on my iPad under the same account details and it appears that it now also has premium but it hasn't used up another of the six accounts - is that correct? I don't want to get charged for family and then again for premium on another device because I've somehow managed to set it up wrong!!!

Hey @ilea84, welcome to the Spotify Community!

Don't worry, you're doing nothing wrong!

Each Premium account (with unique login details) can be signed in on unlimited devices, can download music for offline listening on 3 devices, and can be listened to simultaneously on 1 device only. So basically, if you were listening to Spotify on your iPhone and then started playing Spotify on your iPad, it would pause the iPhone's music. So don't worry, nothing wrong is happening now!

Also, in case you're now curious, this same play/pause functionality doesn't happen between separate members of a family subscription, so you and the other 5 members can all listen to Spotify at the same time.

Please let me know if I can help clarify anything else! Happy listening 🙂
