My Question or Issue
I just changed phones and when trying to download my playlists a notification appears saying "you're out of offline devices" however it seems like its still considering devices that have been wiped and restored to factory settings. How can I fix this? I currently only have downloads on 3 devices that I use, this would be the 4th. Is there something that can be done to erase previous ones that I don't have access to and have been wiped? I don't think this should be happening if devices have been restored to factory settings though... I found no channel to escalate this for support. Any advice?
Hello how are you?
Welcome to the Spotify Community! I'm happy to have you here 🙂
It may be that a clean reinstall of your Spotify can solve your issue!
You can check out how to do this in this link:

Thanks SO much! This fixed the issue! I had tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and it had not worked, but following the steps in the linked article did it! Thanks!!!
Hey! I'm glad you were able to solve your question 🙂
Hi all, reinstalling did not help in my case. Also I logged off from all devices via web and mobile app. Issue is still not fixed. What are the next steps?
Hey, @mnwlf0,
Thanks for joining the thread!
No worries - since clearing cache/reinstalling as well as logging out didn't seem to do the trick for you, you can send us a message in private via the link here - we'll see if we can take care of this from our end.
Cheers 🤘
For me it keeps the device signed in even if I reset it or get rid of the device and I don't know how to remotely remove the non existent device. any ideas?
Hey, @dove92,
You can try removing your downloaded content remotely from the mobile app by following these steps:
Should you still need help, I'd recommend manually removing the downloads from the device itself, either from the app's settings as mentioned above by @ribezaz or by performing a clean reinstall.
Take care.
Currently a premium subscriber and have had to switch phones multiple times this year. I recently encountered an issue where Spotify is telling me that I need to disable offline access for a device so I can set it up on another device.
As I did research, it appears you can have up to five offline access devices so I clicked the 'log out all' option on the Spotify homepage and tried again - same issue.
Anyone have other ideas? I do not have access to any former devices that previously had the Spotify app but all have been factory reset so it shouldn't be an instance of multiple open devices at the same time.
