Free 30 Day Subscription??

As I understand I put in my card info and I will be charged after the 30 days are up as long as I would like to keep spotify premium. But when I signed up I was still charged for premium. So am I not understanding something correctly?? Can someone help me out, I just signed up today.

In order to get the 30 days free trial, you would have needed to go through this page, as linked in an email you should have received.
