Frustrated that Spotify only offers an ad free listening experience and not an add free app

My Question or Issue

I just got two popup ads in a row, one soliciting money, another for a podcast I clearly wont listen to. I was trying to skip forward a few minutes and an ad poped up. I dismissed that ad then my phone went unresponsive for a few seconds while it loaded the second ad. As Spotify usually hears usual, I pay for the service why are you throwing ads at me?
