Gift Card for Existing User

My son is a current user.  I want to send a gift card.  He has already paid for a subscription but I'm not sure when it ends.  If he redeems the card now will it just automatically extend out from the end of his current subscription?

Hello!

Yes, it will just extend the current subscription to another month 🙂 So for example, if it says it expires today, November 28 it will extend it to December 28, so he will not have to pay again for a month because of the gift card added to his account, each gift card adds a month to the account.

What will hapen is that spotify will not let him redeem the cards on his existing account and you will have wasted your money.  I am fighting with them right now on this issue.  I can cancel my account and then start  a new one with the gift cards but that will then screw up my playlists.
