Gift card / connexion problems

Hello everyone !

I offered to my cousin a spotify premium gift card (for one year) but we cannot manage to validate his subscription because, after we created his account, it says that the password we entered is not valid in this country. He lives in France, and I live in Belgium, (country from where I bought the gift card). Even if we tried to change the country in the profile section, it doesn't work. Anyone to help us please ?

Unfortunately Spotify gift cards can only be redeemed on Spotify accounts registered in the same country where they were purchased. They’re also not redeemable for Premium for Family, or in conjunction with other discounts and promotions, such as the student discount or trial offers.
