Gift card for a friend who lives in another country - any chance to make it work?

Hi

Im in UK and want to buy a 6 months premium subscription gift card for a friend in Holland. After reading the T&C's and browsing the forum it  still remains somewhat unclear if it's possible (I've seen an issue resolved for a guy from UK who bought a gift card for a gf in Holland, but also seen posts saying it's not possible). 

Would changing my country (UK) to the Netherlands on the payment page (and NOT on the account settings page) not work? When I change the country to NL is does show me the price in EUR rather than pounds which makes me think it could potentially work? Or would I still have to have a Dutch IP address and my own account registered in Holland for this to go through? Would I have issues with the payment (my VISA is issued in UK and it says "The country selected needs to be the same as where your payment card or PayPal account is registered").

Also, could this potentially be changed by Spotify stuff if I purchase a gift card now and they switch it over to Holland manually? Really want this as a gift. 

Would appreciate if someone could help, wouldn't want to be stuck with a non-refundable gift card (don't have a Spotify myself yet but for own subscription would rather use my Unidays discount than paying full price anyway).

Unfortunately it isn't possible.

You would need to buy a gift card from Spotify Holland for your friend in Holland to redeem it, but to do so you would need to pay using a payment method registered in Holland (which I am guessing you don't have).

Was thinking to ask another Dutch friend to do it for me from Holland using my VISA, which would have been a massive fail. Thank you for explanation.

Imho, a major shortcoming for Spotify.
