Gifting premium to international friends

I've been trying to buy premium for friends living in the U.S. however I am not. I am advised that I could only buy premium in my country even though I have credit card that support payment and purchases in the U.S. in dollars. 

Isn't music as a gift supposed to be international? I am sending music to a friend who I cannot meet in years. I saw some similar posts 4 years ago but this still seems a sad problem. I should at least be allowed to buy gift cards to be mailed to my friends.

Hope one day there's no boundaries for giving music to friends. If you have an answer now I am more than excited to know.

We can confirm that Spotify gift cards can only be redeemed on Spotify accounts registered in the same country where they were purchased. We'll make sure to pass on your comments to right folks.

Right now it's not possible to redeem a gift a gift card from a country that doesn't match the one registered on your account but we have an active idea bout this here.
