Google-Home does NOT connect to my Spotify Account

After completing step 7 to link GoogleHome app to my Spotify account (once it has identified it correctly), specifically after the step where it says "Tap OKAY to confirm", it takes me to a blank page and nothing happens. 

I tried installing, reinstalling, logging out and in, but nope, never actually links. 

I feel like returning my Google Home unit back to the shop as I bought it primarily to listen to Spotify.

We'd first recommend making sure that your Google Home app is updated to the latest version available. For further help setting up and troubleshooting, you can also check out this Google Home support site

 

On another note, just to confirm, does this persist when trying to link your Spotify account to the Google Home app from another device?
