Google Home with Family Subscription

Spotify family accounts (except for the main account) do not work on Google Home. When Google Home is instructed to play music on Spotify, it will attempt to do so, but after a few seconds of silence, it will say "sorry, something went wrong...". The problem goes away when Google Home is linked to the main Spotify account.

 

When can a fix be expected for this please?

I wonder who he's talking to?

I created a new account for my Google Home, and invited it to the family plan.

 

If your email address is:

some.name @ example.com

you can register a new family member account with something like:

some.name+google.home @ example.com

 

(ignore the weird spacing... it's so the email address doesn't get stripped from the comment)

 

Spotfiy treats this as a uniqute account, but your email provider ignores the + onward. So you'll still get confirmation emails for the google home account at your original address.
