My Question or Issue

I am a YouTube gamer, I record videos, due to the limitations of my computers performance, I use an optimized recorder that records all the audio on my device, I play spotify while playing games, so my question is:

If I upload videos on YouTube including spotify content (YouTube gives credits to the creators of the music including ad money and view and rating stats), this video isn't downloadable and is always available when online only, does this count as ripping your content although it's the same as listening to spotify online?

Hey @user-removed,

Thanks for reaching out. Welcome to the community!

The Spotify Terms and Conditions of Use states the following:

"You promise and agree that you are using the Spotify Service and Content for your own personal, non-commercial use and that you will not redistribute or transfer the Spotify Service or the Content."

Therefore, using Spotify Content in your YouTube videos is prohibited.

Instead, I'd recommend checking out YouTube's audio library for some great copyright-free music to use in your videos.

Let me know if you have any questions. Happy listening 🙂
