If I'm not connected to some kind of internet then I can't listen to my downloaded songs. I pay for premium monthly.

Try saving the song. When you download a song, it saves to your online account. You have to save it to your library in order to listen to it in offline mode. To save the song, hit the 3 dots on the right of the song. On the selections that pop up, select save.
