Hi,
I saw an ad on facebook about a 60 day free trial if I upgraded to premium. I clicked the link, upgraded to Spotify premium only to be immediately charged. How are my two free months activated?
Here is a screenshot of the ad that I put on my saved list.
It says: Enjoy 60 days of music offline and without ads. Then only pay $...

There is the link.
It seems to have different messages depending on how you see it. In my saved list it was in Spanish with my country's dollar amount. In this link it says 30 days and the price is in Euros.
I do think it's real though it was shared my spotify on my wall. The link goes to Spotify too and I'm downloading my playlists on my phone.
So the whole process that this post led me to was legit.
Hi, did you guys forget about me?
I'm still unsure of what happened.
Hi Flixx,
Since you seem to know a little bit about this. When I signed up to spotify I originally had the offer of a 7 day free trial, then I was offered through the app for an additional 30 day trial, and upgraded to Premium on February 26. Three days later I noticed a charge on my account for one year which I never signed up for.
I cancelled my Premium Subscription and resigned up for it for free. I have since cancelled it I've already tried to contact spotify through the Contact Forms, and kept getting session ended. I tried clearing my browser history and setting it to private to resend the message and even tried the form where I enter in my DOB etc, and still keep getting the error message.
Lastly, I want to Cancel my profile from Spotify, I'm just not happy with my overall experience and still can't submit a form.
Please do not give me a run around on this matter. I've already started a dispute claim for the original charge on my acccount.
Spotify has to give clearer information on their receipts tabs, and actually have a customer service line for people to call in and talk to a human instead of trying to write to one.
Please let me know if you can help me in any way.
Hi @Flixx,
That information does not apply to my situation, because the ad or promo for the 30 day trial was for people who had already signed up for a free 7 day trial for signing up.
I think it's really dumb on the part of Spotify to promote an advertisement such as that and then use loopholes to charge customers, like it's not for the right country, time zone etc. That's fraudulent. They already have a class action lawsuit from artists on their hands, and soon it's going to be their customers who will file one as well.
I'm still dealing with them not having properly cancelling and removing the Premium subscription, but their programmers obviously do not know how to create a functioning product for consumers. At least I got my refund back.
I've stopped using this service, and have moved to Apple music where I can trust that I will at least get refunded properly and they have a 3 month free trial.
Hi Chutoski,
I already had my problem solved by Spotify customer service but I think people should be talking about this more. Maybe if there is a lot of chatter Spotify will change the way they serve customers, if they want to compete successfully.
