I need to UNbundle the free Hulu and Spotify

I am ready to upgrade my Hulu to Hulu without ads but I still only have the Hulu iteration/plan that came free when I signed up for Spotify premium way back when. I cannot upgrade to a new Hulu plan through Hulu because it’s bundled into my Spotify account but there is no option to cancel Hulu on Spotify or upgrade it there and pay the difference from what I can see.

How can I either (1) unbundle/cancel my free basic Hulu account that is through Spotify, or (2) how can I upgrade it and pay the difference?

Thanks for reaching out.

The Spotify + Hulu bundle offer comes with ad-supported Hulu, so it, unfortunately, won't be possible for you to get Hulu without ads through Spotify.

To get ad-free Hulu, you would have to disconnect your Hulu account from Spotify. To do this, you can cancel your subscription by following the steps here.

Lastly, please keep in mind that if you cancel your current Spotify + Hulu bundle subscription or switch to a different plan, it won't be possible to get this specific offer back.

This is extremely annoying cumbersome for 2 reasons- 1. I have to cancel my Spotify subscription to remove Hulu and 2. Hulu isn’t even recognizing the cancel until my Spotify subscription resets. So now I have to wait 2 weeks and resubscribe to Spotify and can’t get streaming content I want until then. 

is there a way for servicing to recognize the subscription split sooner?

Amp0709 you are 100% right...they are making this process so much more difficult and frustrating than it needs to be- why is there an option on the Student plans to remove the link to Hulu, bot not the Individual + plans?
