My Question or Issue
I have an old friend on my family plan who I've tried to cut off. I haven't removed them off my family plan because they scare me and I wanted to be faraway.
I want to remove them now, if I do will they receive an email or notification, or will it just go back to the free version? I'm not even sure if they use it anymore.

Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!
When you remove someone from the Family plan their Spotify account will revert to the free service and they will get an email notification.
Note that they might not receive the notification, if they've turned off all notifications on their account or have previously blocked emails from Spotify in the email.
If you don't want to have this person as a follower, you can also block them. More info here.

Members who have left the plan cannot see the manager's subscription status after leaving. This applies both if they left on their own or if they've been removed by the manager. Their Spotify account will also revert to the free service shortly after leaving.
It's worth noting that plan members can only switch plans once every 12 months. More details about the Family plan can be found here 🙂
