Issue with Spotify gift pass

Hi there,

I purchased a 6 month Premium pass for my brother as a Christmas present.

He is currently based in Hong Kong, and when he tried to use the pass it wouldn't work, he presumes because of his location.

I feel a bit stupid for not having checked if the pass could be used abroad - but it wasn't obvious at all when I bought the pass that it was a UK-only subscription.

Does anyone know if there is a way around this? Can I convert the pass so that it can be used in HK? If not, can I claim a refund, since there is no way for brother to use the gift?

I don't know if there is a way around for your brother to use that gift card. But i suggest you contact Spotify support about a possible refund using this contact form. If you get an automated reply just reply back to speed things along.

It is also clearly stated directly below where you select the value of the card on the eCard page that gif cards can only be redeemed in the country in which they are purchased.
