Last starred item on August 1st... More recent are disappearing?

Much like other users I am noticing that items I have starred are not appearing in my library.  It hasn't been as widespread as all my music, just recent additions.  For example I tried to star the new J Roddy Walston album "Essential Tremors" which released this week.  But every time I close out and come back into Spotify it is no longer in my library.  I did a sort of the last time something was added to my library and it is on August 1st.  So it appears to have a 5 week gap of music I've starred that is not appearing.

 

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi EvanF811 - We've just done a bit of behind-the-scenes maintenance. Please try signing out of the app and starring some tracks again. Thanks!

I'm running Windows 7 and Spotify Version 0.9.1.57.ge7405149

Hey EvanF811, have you tried a clean reinstallation. Might be worth a try before seeing if you can replicate this again. 

Also found when this is happening with others, if you log into the web player and star one track from there it seems to stop this happening for some reason!

I'm still having trouble replicating this one. 

 

Is the track still in the Starred Playlist? It's only missing in the Library correct?

 

These are the steps I took:

1. Starred a track

2. Signed out

3. Went to the library

4. Track is available and starred

 



Hi Meredith.  The tracks are no longer starred nor do they show up in my library.  I've tried the uninstall and reinstall which also did not work.  I even tried to star the album I gave as an example above on my phone, closed the app and then reopened.  This is also happening on the app.

I've found Peter's solution of the web player to work.  However I prefer the downloaded version of Spotify versus the web player for my desktop use.  Any idea as to why it'd stay starred from using the web player and not the downloaded program?

Out of curiosity--how many tracks are currently in your starred playlist? 

I have 4,385.

Interesting--I'm only see 3 on my end. I suspect you've got two accounts which is the root of the problem here. 

 

When you log in do you use your email or a unique Spotify username? The only account I can see is linked to your Facebook. 

That's the only way I sign on to Spotify.  I don't use it on shared PC's so when I downloaded the program on my computer I signed on via Facebook.  Typically don't sign out at the end of my listening sessions.

Thanks Meredith.  Whatever you did seemed to work.  I logged off, starred some songs and then logged off and back on again.  They were still there.  I appreciate the help!

There was a new development when I logged in this morning.  Only 41 of previously 4,500 songs were in my library.  Not sure what happened over night but only 1% of my music is still in my library.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Evanf811 - In your starred playlist alone I can see 837 tracks. When you sign out/ sign in does it go back to normal?

 

Do you see your FB picture in the top right hand corner still?

I was looking at the albums, you're right there are 838 tracks.  I signed out and signed back in but it's still only showing 838 songs.  And my facebook picture is in the top right corner still.

Ok we'll get to the bottom of this one. How many playlists are you seeing? 

I have 15 playlists which I believe is all that I have.  The issue just seems to be within the library.
