Linking to Alexa dot.

Dear Sir
I have a Spotify premier account! Yesterday I bought an Amazon echo dot particularly to aid links to Spotify! When I try to link it to Spotify ( listed as a simple operation in the Alexa app) ..it says I need a Spotify premier account!! Please advise.
