Local songs create an error when attempted to be played

I am using a free Spotify account and have imported some local songs onto Spotify, when I try to play them it creates an error which reads "This song is not available. If you have the file on your computer you can import it." I am using Windows 10 on my PC. 

I have tried:

Installing an older version

Deleting "local files" file in App data

Restarting computer 

Reinstalling Spotify

If anyone could get back to me to help resolve the issue it would be appreciated.

When I attempt to play the song, Artwork is loaded into the bottom right for a brief second and the time stamp of the song is displayed however no song is played.

Im getting teh exact same problem. I used to have all my old bands material locally stored and imported to spotify, but now i keep getting the error message
