Logging in brings me to an account I didn't log into

I have just created a new account to add to a family plan (haven't done that yet). 

When use the email and password to log into this new account, I am presented with another account that I use elsewhere. 

it doesn't matter if I log in from another browser or another machine, I am presented with the wrong account. If I log out and back in, I get the same wrong account. When I dig into the account, I'm shown the new account email. If I try to close that account and try again, I'm told I'll be deleting the already existing account. 

Spotify believes in zero help beyond volumes of non-related articles that burn the users time in the chipperest way possible. Because any tech platform being responsible for what they build? Silly rabbit. 

Is there any solution to be had?

This is odd, and it shouldn't happen. First up, you can try logging into the new account with the username and password instead of the email. To know the username, go to the device where that new account is open and open this link.

If you're unable to do that, go to your Account Overview page (if you can from both accounts) and Sign out everywhere. Once done, try logging into the accounts again. Make sure you don't use any saved credentials or Smart Lock on your device. Write down the email and password manually.

Lastly, open an incognito/private tab on your device and try to log in to the new account from there. Let us know if you have the same issue.
