Logging in issue

I have been trying to link spotify to my Google home, but when prompted at the login screen in order to complete the link at the following address

https://accounts.spotify.com/en/login

I cannot login due to "incorrect password", I have logged out of the Spotify app on my phone and then logged back in using the same credentials previously came back as incorrect. 

It's very frustrating using credentials I can see working, and the page refusing to let me log in. Has anybody else seen this happen/know resolution?
