Login will work via internet but not app

Can anyone help please? I created a login originally via Spotify App then was soon after upgraded to premium via network provider so deleted app as per instruction. After I downloaded app again, I receive error message when trying to log-In. Password etc is perfect however and I can log in via website using same details.
Feeling ready to throw phone out of window. Any help would be appreciated!! Thanks.

Can you try logging in with your username and password instead of your email address and password?
