Love my account, dislike 10 GB download limit

I enjoy using Spotify, and use it almost exclusively for music. I recently got a Nexus 6p - 64gb, with fantasies of downloading all of my playlists over Wifi to my phone. I was very dismayed to discover that there's a cap of about 10GB on downloadable music. I can't really see the point of it - it seems arbitrary and it's inconvenient for those of us who want to avoid streaming over cell towers with high data rates.

So this is just a post to offer feedback. Please remove or increase the limit. I would happily pay more for an uncapped account.

Thank you!

Hi GSirois33! A premium subscriber is able to download about 10,000 songs, which depending on file quality and song length can vary from about 40-120GB. This 10,000 song limit is divided up for use on three devices, so a single device can have up to 3,333 offline tracks at a time, which can range from about 13-40GB a device. While seemingly arbitrary, this limit is not actually in the hands of Spotify, but with the music labels that provide Spotify with the rights to provide the tracks to it's customers. As a part of the contracts that allow Spotify to provide the music for streaming the record labels also get to set terms, such as these caps. According to user data, only a minor amount of users actually ever reach the 10,000 song limit, so there's some good new there at least. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Cool - thanks for this information!! I'd like to have all 10,000 songs downloaded on my phone, and none on any other devices.

Is that possible?

Unfortunately, no.
