Loyalty Rewards?

Solved!

Loyalty Rewards?

So I have been with Spotify paying Premium for years. There are lots of offers to new customers but never to existing loyal customers. My questions are:

1) Has Spotify ever rewarded loyalty... ever at all?

2) Does Spotify ever intend to?

Ironically your offer of 99p for 3 months to new customers is making me contemplate leaving, which is sad as that is a very knee jerk reaction. I joined originally as you had a competitive product and morally I agreed with it, but now there are a few other options.

Hey @minisween and @foxan, welcome to the community!

Spotify definitely values each and every customer. Some Premium promotions aren't available to existing users as they are used to attract new customers. Yes, I know, it would be nice to get 3 months of Premium for $0.99. I would even like to get $100 cashback every time I spend $500 on my credit card, but sadly I can't do that (was a nice intro offer though). I'm sure Spotify is thinking of ways to reward loyal customers.I know for a fact, Spotify is always looking for ways to improve Premium for their subscribers. Sometimes, it might not seem like it, but it's because they are working on something big and it's taking some time.

P.S. The Spotify Family holiday offer is available to all customers - Premium for $9.99/month for 3-months for you and up to 4 family members.

I've cancelled the subscription because of this. Customer acquisition is important, but not at the expense of existing customers, especially when you don't have a good (or any?) loyalty scheme for customer retention.

I've never really seen anything either that rewards existing customers and I've been with Spotify on/off for years.

The service hasn't dramatically changed other than anticipated updates to match competitors. That's fine, I fully support the Spotify model. However offering me the opportunity to pay more money or have a service I don't need isn't a reward - that's salesmanship. If I buy a cup of coffee that's great, but don't expect me to buy another cup of coffee for 50% off... I'm already happy with the coffee I have.

Perhaps having 1 free months for every 3 you pay for, only to subscribers who have stayed with Spotify for more than one year?

Or instead just perpetuate the model of "offers for new customers", if that is how Spotify is doing business so be it... but that means I will treat you like my phone provider. You provide the same service as others, therefore I will leave Spotify and try them out (iTunes will offer me my first 3 months free for instance... you are literally becoming a carbon copy)

Updating their product is considered loyalty reward? I would say that it is an essential part of any software development.

Op is completely right, there hasn't been any loyalty reward in 5 years that I've been a subscriber.

Agree with this - not once have I seen even a token gesture for sticking with Spotify. I've had it since 2010. Kind of makes you apathetic to the brand.

Two Words, Well Done!
