Mail already existing?

Hello,

I want to register but spotify says that my mail is already existing. I was very confused because I never used spotify before. Then I tried to pretend that I forgot my password to see what happens. Spotifiy says that it seems like I'm trying to connect with my facebook account, so I wondered if the problem might be that spotify knows my mailadress because it is connected to facebook, so I went to facebook and searched for an account with my mailadress (I used to have a facebook account but I deleted it maybe five years ago) and could not find anything.

What is the problem? Is there any possibility to register with this mailadress now?
