Moving releases to new aggregator

Moving releases to new aggregator

Hello!

My band currenty have four releases on Spotify and we used an aggregator to get them there. But now we need to change aggregator which leads to my question...

What do I do? Do I delete all releases via the old aggregator and add them again through the new one? If so, does that mean that the statistics (number of plays, most popular etc) is reset? Will songs that people have added in their playlists etc no longer work or will the "new" upload replace to old songs and keep statistics, place in playlists etc?

Thanks in advance!

Hey @DogHustler,

  1. First, submit all content to your new distributor
  2. On the next day, take down all content via your old distributor

Make sure to use the same metadata (song titles, album title, ISRCs, etc.) and audio files you used with your old distributor. That way, stores (especially Spotify) will try to ensure that you don't lose play counts or playlists that you're on. I can't guarantee this because it's out of my, your or your new/old distributors hands -- but that's generally how it works.

Hope this helps!
